How To Set Up An Electric Vehicle Charging Station? Legal Advice

Every day in Ukraine there are more and more users of electric cars. This creates a corresponding demand for setting up electric vehicle charging stations both for personal and commercial (business) purposes.

As a rule, electricity for individuals is supplied at much lower prices (about one or two hryvnia per kilowatt). 

As for electricity for legal entities, its average cost is about four hryvnias.  

Thus, it turns out that individuals save about UAH 150 - 200 at 100 kilowatts.

But let’s say you need to charge more than one car, and you want to join the rapidly developing energy market. What will be cheaper: to buy electricity on the market yourself or through intermediaries?

Of course, electricity has always been more expensive for legal entities than for individuals. But such business can also be economically optimized. 

For this purpose, it’s necessary: 

• To start a company;
• To obtain an Electricity Retail License;
• To register the company on the electricity market of Ukraine;
• To find the person who will be bidding on the appropriate platforms.

The launch of electricity and its purchase on the day-ahead market, on the intraday market and on the market of bilateral agreements allows to save up to 30% of the cost of purchasing electricity for electric cars. 

By choosing your own contractors and being able to analyze prices on the electricity market, you will be able to choose the most convenient price for you.
