Documents required
To obtain a permit for special water use, our lawyers need the following documents:
- EDRPOU code is needed to prepare a package of documents for the authority;
- Location of the water body is needed to develop a scheme of water withdrawal and wastewater discharge points;
- Copies of constituent documents are needed to confirm the water body renter;
Substantiation of water demand is needed to calculate monthly normative water use and water disposal.
The period for obtaining a permit for special water use in Ukraine is 30 business days from the date of submission of all documents to the authority.
The period for preparing preliminary documentation is 2 months.

Yes, you can. To extend the permit, you should submit a number of additional documents to the main list. For example, it will be necessary to submit a calculation of the amount of water withdrawal (discharge) based on the developed individual standards of water consumption and drainage, or for household and drinking needs, in accordance with DBN V.2.5 -64: 2012 (it must be approved by the local authorities).
A permit for water special use may be issued for short term (for three years) and long term (from three to twenty five years).
Yes. If withdrawing water requires this permit, an entrepreneur without a permit will have to pay a fine in the amount of the damage caused. Such damage is calculated by the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine. The amount of the fine is from UAH 340 to 1,700.

Who needs to obtain a permit for special water use?
There are primary and secondary water users. Both need to obtain the permit.
Primary water users are those who have their own equipment for withdrawing water (for example, water service companies).
Secondary users are those who do not have such facilities and receive water from the previous ones.
Who does not need to get the permit?
Entrepreneurs who use up to 5 m3 of water per day (except for those who use water to pack drinking water).
