We often receive requests for legal assistance in obtaining pharmacy passports. Sometimes people wishing to start a pharmacy just wonder what it is, where and how to get it. The problem is that such a document simply does not exist today. So, the question arises, Do you need to obtain any other document and what documents are required to open a pharmacy?

The passport of a pharmacy institution is a document issued by the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, which contained complete information about the pharmacy from the general details (address, ID number, contact details) to the characteristics of the premises where the pharmacy was located (materials used for walls, type of heating and ventilation, area, etc.).

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which approved the form of pharmacy passport, became invalid in August 2012. Of course, pharmacies that have been opened before that date can still have such passports. However, they are no longer needed to start a pharmacy and carry on business activities.

Today, the mandatory documents for the premises of pharmacies are as follows:

  • A technical passport for the premises;
  • A document confirming the right to use the premises (certificate of ownership, extract from the Register of Ownership Rights to Real Estate Property or lease agreement);
  • Expert’s conclusion on compliance of the ramp with the state building standards.

And of course, you need to obtain a Pharmacy License.
