Opening your own medical office marks the transition from working as an employed physician to running an independent practice. However, at the planning stage, self-employed doctors typically focus primarily on the premises, renovation, and equipment. The key issue, however, is preparing for the medical license — and doing so in a way that avoids having to redo anything later because licensing requirements were not taken into account.
That is why, when preparing for medical licensing, the requirements for the premises, the physician’s qualifications, personnel, material and technical resources, the Electronic Health Care System (eHealth), and documentation must all be aligned. If even one of these elements is not considered in advance, an already prepared private medical office may require additional changes, while launching the practice may take more time and involve additional costs.
