A massive boom in demand for disinfectant registration occurred in 2020–2021, following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic to Ukraine. Businesses, medical facilities, household chemical manufacturers, beauty centers, and importers began aggressively utilizing and launching antiseptic and disinfectant products on the market, all of which required mandatory registration.

However, there is a catch: the registration is valid for only 5 years. All products registered in 2020–2021 must now undergo a completely new registration process. Furthermore, both the regulatory procedures and the actual state institutions involved in this workflow have changed significantly since then.
